The Orchestre à vents non identifié (OVNI) under the direction of Jonathan Dagenais had the very special guest artist Frédéric Demers on trumpet. The concert was held on June 26, 2010 at Salle Oscar Peterson in Montréal.
This is a piece I orchestrated and partly composed : Le carnaval de Venise à Montréal. It demonstrates the virtuosity of Frédéric together with the excellence of the OVNI. The humerous side does not alter the great musicianship they offer to us. The recording was done by Philippe Bouvrette. (Duration : 14'20")

Voici une pièce que j'ai orchestré et en partie composée Le carnaval de Venise à Montréal qui nous montre à la fois la virtuosité de Frédéric ainsi que l'excellence de l'OVNI. My friend the trumpeter Frédéric Demers is in the spotlight in this article in the music magazine Fanfare. The article is signed by James Reel and gives a critic about the album "Caranaval et Concertos" produced last year and contains an interview with Frédéric. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Frédéric on this production by writing some arrangements. I even composed the jazz section within the "Carnaval de Montéal" based upon the "Carnaval of Venice". He is a wonderful man an a great artist to discover.
Mon ami le trompettiste Frédéric Demers est en vedette dans un article de la revue Fanfare. Le texte de James Reel porte un regard critique sur son album « Caranaval et Concertos » qu'il a produit l'année passée et contient aussi une entrevue réalisée avec Frédéric. J'ai eu le plaisir de collaborer avec Frédéric en répondant à sa commande d'arrangements de pièces d'Herbert C. Clarke et d'Arban. J'ai même composé la portion jazz de son « Canaval de Montréal ». C'est un gars formidable et un artiste à découvrir.
