The Orchestre classique de Montréal (OCM) will present the North American premiere of Louis Babin’s Phœnix violin concerto on February 27, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at Salle Pierre-Mercure in Montreal. Tara-Louise Montour will be the guest violinist for this concert, conducted by MCO Principal Conductor and Artistic Director Jacques Lacombe.
The Phœnix violin concerto embodies the strength and optimism of new beginnings. It was commissioned and premiered in France in 2015 by French violinist Marie Cantagrill and the Orchestre de chambre d’Ariège. It was acclaimed by the public at the time.
